First it made me angry, then it made me decide to be kinder to myself as an on-and-off fat person. I fear that men most of the stellar reviews are from skinny people who deep down loved pitying [and feeling superior to] the little fat girl who hates herself. And I men did feel sorry for this woman as a child. Her mother and grandmother were truly from hell. I believe that most of her problems are not about being fat, but about being physically and verbally and sexually abused. |

I'm usually okay with sad, especially when there's a great lesson or a happy ending. I 6102005139 picked this book up because I thought I would get a better understanding of how very overweight people feel and how they live there lives day to day. I was way off on that - what I got was a terribly depressing detailed account of a horribly abusive and neglectful childhood.
