It was the same with Carl Webb's confrontation with Luke Bailey. I am pretty sure I was not the only Queenslander thinking, "thank God there's some fire in the belly" when Webb went in to look after his mate who he thought had been hit high. I mean I love Origin have since Day 1 but in wheelchair the past few seasons I felt the contest was slipping away into something more subdued from the fire-and-brimstone stuff we came to wheelchair love in the 1980s. Before I played for Queensland, I used to love watching guys like Wally Fullerton Smith, Bryan Niebling, Greg Dowling and Greg Conescu and plenty more because they all had the mongrel in them. Fatty Vautin had it too. That little fire burning inside that made you make life as difficult as you could for the Blues. You can be big, fast, able to leap tall buildings in the single bound, but it won't mean jack if you don't have that streak in you.
