Actually, of the four par-threes they sport encountered during the round, Fatty was closest to the pin on three occasions. Fatty played the front nine in only 39 strokes which was pretty good considering his playing partner, Anthony Painter, who played on the US Tour this year, carded 38 for the same nine holes. Actually Painter was desperately unlucky when he sport was penalised two strokes because the ball hit his caddie, but that's golf and there was only one shot between the tour pro and the rank amateur Paul Vautin as they headed to the back nine. Both sport players made five at the par-four 10th, meaning Painter was now three over par to Fatty's four over and an upset was certainly on the cards. Unfortunately Fatty stayed on the bogey train for the next three holes while Painter the pro jumped on the birdie express. Fatty was now seven over par and the pro had fought his way back to one under by the time they reached the 15th.
