Fearlessly attacking his breakaway group with five kilometres remaining and bravely - boldly - holding onto his slender lead to Angaston, his two second winning margin coupled with another nine seconds' worth of bonuses elevating baby-faced 'Gerro' to the top of the podium as stage winner and race leader, flanked by Sanchez, seven seconds in arrears, and McEwen, a further 11 seconds behind the 2005 race champion. |
