One might expect the story to center on the tragic character twins of the fat girl who is obsessed with her own death, but the young lovers, Elena and Fernando, too often dominate instead, leaving Anaïs to be more of a sideshow. Some suspension of disbelief is required in the widely varying body sizes between family members. Besides the large disparity in body sizes and types of the two sisters, Fernando and his mother are even more different. |
