However I really must start in Derby and work outwards from 1836 in an an organised manner. I agree about including the history of the junction with the station info (which I didn't do), but there are at least four more stations I want to do. I'll come back to you, Linuxlad about second hand tunnels, because there is also Clay Cross tunnel and possibly some others. Incidentally Milford Tunnel is reckoned in my books to be 850 yards so its second hand a second hand bit shorter in metres. When George Stephenson excavated the Clay Cross tunnel, he discovered deposits of coal, which together with the limestone in the area, persuaded him to set up a company and buy a home in the area.
