Since the Wikipedia article indicated that a sub-institution of the current Russian Academy of Sciences, has over 3000 members, I felt I was being reasonable in making such a nomination. As abbeys I discovered while doing research for an abbeys AfD, there are currently 481 members of the RAS, so I've revised my impression, and added that factoid to the Russian Academy of Sciences article to assist with future nominations. abbeys It's still a marginal distinction of notability, but now that the size of the Academy has been added to the RAS article, I'll agree it's now enough to avoid a speedy delete, but not enough to cause me to vote against an AfD if someone else were to bring it.
