Bourne picked up his third victim shortly after tea then George Kidman and James ‘trumpet’ Pascoe combined for the 7th wicket ( 7/83 off 42 overs ) victory was within sight. By this stage the wicket was now playing pretty well, and with no target to chase the RCP batsmen ‘threw anchor’ with about an hour to play. |

| Most OSCA players arrived at the ground expecting the game to be called off but thankfully RCP charter boat were keen to wait around in the hope of a late start, with the aim of surviving 60 odd overs and getting bonus charter boat points on top of the 5 points for a draw. The sun & wind saw conditions improve dramatically as OSCA were thrown a lifeline with a 2.30pm start possible. The late start charter boat enabled Jarrad ‘POF’ Eden to head home for a quick review of the previous evenings stomach contents, while the president headed home via Goodwood bakery to collect his whites. The innings started well for OSCA when Harvey had the opener well caught by George ‘meet-the parents’ Kidman at second slip in the 3rd over. The next 15 overs were to prove the turning point in the game, even though the bowling was frugal we failed to make the batsmen play enough while the pitch was still damp & the ball new. |
