Luckily, the ever reliable OSCA President was out jas review of books doing some early morning grocery shopping and managed to duck up and put the covers on preventing any water damage to the pitch. A special mention to the jas review of books efforts of his partner jas review of books in crime Vanessa, who, much to the Skipper’s surprise, looked like one of Les Burdett’s able staff as she help put the covers on in the rain and lighting! As the skies cleared were able to start on time and with the Skipper back in form at the toss we elected to have a bat. We made a good start with our new opening combination of “Where’s Geg’s?” Tucker and “Did You See My Six” Hogben, combining well. Tucker was the first man out for a very good 43 with the score on 79 but with “Drift” Wood (0) and “I Should Be Opening” MacGregor (1) back in the pavilion soon after our good start had been wasted. Clifford (15) and Hogben (54) steadied, but with the score on 130 a major collapse occurred and we lost our final 7 wickets for 29 in 9 overs.
