| Hogben’s innings was a welcome return to form, and “Evergreen” Parson’s 19 no was a valuable contribution at the end and we were left with a small but defendable 159. However, the real interest was what was happening out in the middle during this collapse as our beloved opposition initiated one of the most pathetic displays of personal sledging witnessed by some of the russell seasoned OSCA players. However, this did nothing but fire russell up OSCA Senior. We took the field with real purpose and despite much chatter from the pavilion, the Skipper russell (2/34 off 10) and Mike “Pud” Whitney (2/23 off 10) removed the first three batsmen with only 13 on the board. A fired up “Parso aka Abe Simpson” bowled like the good old days (yet again) and ended with the miserly figures of 10 overs, 7 maidens, 2 for 8!! |
