Not too many authors make me laugh out loud but Liza Palmer sure did. One review states that the ending was sad...that Maggie was vindictive. I wonder if that was it completely....or if Maggie was missing her childhood friend and wanted to share her a little bit too. But I'd be lying if I said there was a moore, judith part of me that didn't LOVE that she did what she did. Oh, to have joined Maggie at Table Nine! My only disappointment: finishing the book and realizing that this is moore, judith Palmer's debut. I wanted to head out and look for more of her work. A great, light read that draws you right into the crowd of characters. I hesitate to say "light" because it really is interesting....the |

Didn't know there was a "fat chick genre". I think that does a horrible diservice to this author and that just about anyone can relate to Maggie. fatgirl: a true story by judith moore We all have fatgirl: a true story by judith moore flaws and insecurities....Maggie's happened to be weight. Could have easily been Diary with the (insert flaw/insecurity here)Girl. I thoroughly enjoyed Maggie's internal dialogue and loved the characters. Maggie is an imperfect woman with an awesome, wry wit. |
