Here I was, 11:30 on Christmas Eve wondering why I was still up and trying to add a useless novelty to my blog when suddenly, for the first time this year, I heard a male koala calling not far away - twice. It is always exciting. In 11 years living here I have heard them many times but only ever seen one!For the benefit of those who live in non-koala areas: to recreate this sound, stick your head in an empty 44 gallon drum and make a sound like a pig grunting.
