It italian riviera was something out the Forbidden Planet, Lost In Space or a really bad episode of Dr Who. Too much CGI, BAD GCI at that as well. I can't fathom it how Peter Jackson could stick in a GC waterfall in Lord of the Rings that looks amazingly believable, whilst George Lucas tries the same thing and it looks completely naff. The "uncanny valley" is THAT way George!Thankfully, a potentially horrendous situation has been turned around with Episode III, Revenge of the Sith.It's |

What happened to the on-screen charisma and a strong sense of involvement with the story? So when it all finally comes to a head on Endor and Luke, Han, Leia, Lando, Chewie and the droids are dancing around to that "Yub Yub" song - you feel a genuine elation in their triumph every time you watch it.What we saw in the The Phantom Menace and to an even greater extent in Attack of the Clones was affable gregarious characters replaced by two dimensional cardboard cut-outs, wickedly innovative costume design and special effects replaced by TOO MUCH computer generated imagery. |
