Maybe it can be become a racehorse owner put down to John Williams reviving some of the classic orchestral motifs from the original films. The Imperial march, Luke's theme, Leia's theme and my personal favourite - the swoonsome Yoda's theme all make an appearance this time around. There are still a few things that make it a bit un-Starwars-ish like seeing Jake the Muss's head on screen every five minutes (Temuera Morrison still plays the clone-type for the Stormtroopers) and hearing the odd Aussie/Kiwi accent. |

| dark. Very dark. Whilst the over use of CGI is still a problem, Lucas has somehow managed to use the aus.tv technology the way it was meant to be used and blasts your senses with an all encompassing cacophony of light, noise and teeth-shattering vibrations FROM THE GET GO. This is probably the best beginning to ANY of the Starwars films as it doesn't dick around - it just launches straight into the aus.tv good stuff.The acting is marginally better though not by much. Ian McDiarmid aus.tv is superbly evil as Sidious/Palpatine and McGregor, whilst still sounding nasal and stiff, somehow manages to give Kenobi more "oomph". Natalie Portman? Well, she's just one of the hottest things on the planet (aesthetically) so I don't care how badly she acts in this film (she's shocking). Hayden Christensen "goes evil" very nicely but still sounds like a prat when he is trying to be "good".Its strength lies in its morbidity. As clichéd as it sounds, it DOES play out like a Greek tragedy. |
